- Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California, license must be active and in good standing.
- 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment

- Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
- Perform basic exam procedures
- Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
- Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, and extractions (simple, complex, gingival flaps)
- Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
- Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); in-house laboratory equipment
- Ability to utilize ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images and urine samples preferred
- Excellent client communication/education
- Ability to perform Technician appointments independently, including accurate medical record documentation
- Assist in veterinary clinical duties including dental procedures, radiology, anesthesia, and laboratory work as part of daily patient care
- Perform digital radiography and positioning for diagnostic imaging
- Carry out dental procedures including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, and extractions (simple, complex, gingival flaps)
- Provide anesthesia during surgical procedures, including induction, intubation, monitoring, and maintaining aseptic technique
- Place venous catheters and perform venipuncture as needed for diagnostics and treatments
- Obtain and document accurate medical histories from clients
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for technician appointments
- Educate clients and communicate effectively about diagnoses, treatments, and care plans
- Perform in-house laboratory tests and cytology using microscope equipment
- Utilize ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images and urine samples when available
- Support anesthesia and surgical teams and assist with general patient care as required
- Ensure proper animal handling and restraint in a Fear Free environment
- Perform technician appointments independently when scheduled
- Adhere to safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
- Participate in continuing education and professional development as offered by AmeriVet
