Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of business development, market development, or commercial leadership experience.
  • Strong experience within energy markets such as oil and gas, power, renewables, infrastructure, or related industrial sectors.
  • Proven success developing new markets and commercializing new applications.
  • Strong understanding of industrial materials and engineered solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior executives, engineers, technical teams, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate market potential and business opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, global, and cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and prioritize high-growth applications for thermoplastics, composite materials, and structural shapes across energy markets.
  • Conduct market and application analyses to evaluate revenue potential, margins, competitive positioning, and commercial viability.
  • Develop and execute market-entry and growth strategies for targeted energy applications.
  • Translate advanced materials and manufacturing capabilities into scalable commercial opportunities.
  • Build compelling business cases that support long-term market expansion.
  • Identify and build relationships with key decision-makers across original equipment manufacturers, engineering, procurement, and construction firms, fabricators, and energy operators.
  • Develop long-term partnerships with strategic customers across the energy value chain.
  • Lead early-stage customer engagement to position advanced materials in new designs, specifications, and applications.
  • Build credibility with senior executives, engineers, technical stakeholders, and procurement teams.
  • Partner with Engineering, Research and Development, Product Management, and other technical teams to develop solutions for specific customer applications.
  • Translate customer challenges and market needs into technical requirements and compelling commercial proposals.
  • Support the development and commercialization of next-generation thermoplastic, composite, and engineered-part solutions.
  • Help customers identify opportunities to improve performance, durability, reliability, and lifecycle value through advanced materials.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic growth opportunities and customer projects.
  • Advance opportunities from initial market identification through customer engagement and commercialization.
  • Lead contract negotiations and commercial agreements as needed.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Technical Teams, and Leadership to support successful execution.
  • Monitor energy-sector trends, regulatory developments, technology shifts, and emerging applications.
  • Analyze competitive positioning and identify whitespace opportunities.
  • Provide strategic insights that inform market priorities and investment decisions.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, technical forums, and energy-sector events.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with composites, engineered materials, structural systems, thermoplastics, or advanced materials is preferred.

The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG Group) is proud to announce it has attained full ownership of CPC SRL (CPC), a renowned Italian company specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of automobile components crafted from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). This pivotal acquisition that began with minority ownership in 2017 aligns with MCG Group’s long-term strategic vision to further expand and enhance its vertically integrated carbon fiber supply chain.
