Software Engineering Intern

About Vantage:

Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, alternatively known as a FinOps platform. We help companies of all sizes manage their cloud infrastructure costs: everything from individual developers all the way up to multiple Fortune 500 customers. Our co-founders are industry veterans who have been former infrastructure engineers and product managers at DigitalOcean and AWS. The company is an efficient and hard working team of ~30 employees across the US with a New York City center of gravity.  As we transition to the growth phase of the business, it’s likely our team size will at least double into 2024. 

Our current customers include Square, Aflac, Rippling, Compass, Barstool Sports, PBS, Planetscale, and Starburst.

About The Role:

You will work with a team of product engineers who are responsible for shipping features across the Vantage product. The team is fast-paced and is constantly shipping to production. 

This role requires working from our office in the Little Italy neighborhood of Manhattan, NY.

What You Will Do:

• Work directly with our engineering team and a mentor to ship new cost provider integrations during your internship.

• Write clean, testable, peer-reviewed code.

• Own end-to-end feature development - including measuring and reporting on customer impact.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in at least one object-oriented programming language. We use Ruby for our backend, and are happy to teach it.

• A product-oriented mindset with a passion for listening to and delighting customers.

• Available full-time for 10-12 weeks in our office in New York City between May and August.

• A kind person.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with a web framework, such as Ruby on Rails, Django or Express.js.

• Experience with a front-end framework such as Vue, React or Angular.

• Previous experience working within a startup environment.

The estimated hourly rate range for this role is $25 - $35
