DESCRIPTION:
The microwave technician will be responsible for the Thin Film tuning, aligning, troubleshooting, and final testing of microwave components, subsystems, and integrated assemblies. A strong knowledge of microwave test equipment like scalar and network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, noise figure meters, and digital scopes is required. Some mechanical assembly may be required. In many cases technicians will be required to work with engineers on new product releases or to trouble-shoot a product.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties will include preliminary testing, pulse focusing, assembling tubes for test, disassembling returned TWTs for replacement, and environmental testing. Individual must have experience testing electronic assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as multi-meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supply, function generator, LCD meter, power meters, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in electrical/electronic testing
- Familiarity with various types of test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment’s)
- RF and technical knowledge and experience is a plus
- Possess a solid understanding of ohms law and basic electronics theory
- Detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills
- Able to provide daily updates
- Understand production schedules and shipments
- Passion for testing and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- A technical associate degree or equivalent military training is required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a D.O.D. security clearance.
