Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 1-2 years of experience preferably with a public accounting/private accounting mix
  • CPA (or parts passed) preferred
  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements/reports
  • Comfort with ambiguity and lack of formally defined processes
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations
  • Help maintain and improve month-end close processes, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Complete month-end close work in the following areas: prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, operating expenses and other areas as needed
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Respond to information requests and assist with the annual financial statement audit
  • Analyze financial statements and GL accounts to ensure monthly, quarterly and annual fluctuations are in line with expectations and documented
  • Assist the accounting manager, director of accounting, and controller as needed
  • Take ownership of preparing financial statement areas assigned
  • Establish strong working relationships cross functionally
  • Learn how to use Virta’s accounting tools efficiently
  • Learn about Virta’s product offerings and how the business works
