- A bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- No prior experience is required.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification is required within 90 days of employment.
- Athletic Trainer Board of Certification/Accreditation certification and the applicable state athletic trainer license or registration are required for the state of work location.
- The role requires constant standing; frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 0–25 pounds; frequent walking, reaching, gripping, keyboard use, data entry, and oral communication; and occasional or rare physical activities including bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, crawling, patient movement, and driving.
- Support orthopedic physicians.
- Support cast applications, bracing, and therapy.
- Assess injuries and manage comprehensive treatment programs to prevent injury and rehabilitate athletes.
- Develop conditioning programs for injured and non-injured athletes, incorporating customized nutrition plans and schedules to ensure safety in program design.
- Design and implement comprehensive training or rehabilitation programs to prevent injury and illness among athletes.
- Evaluate and manage injuries, maintain medical documentation for each athlete, and act as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
- Prepare athletes for practice or competition based on team schedules, applicable regulations and guidelines, and in conjunction with physicians and sports performance staff.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
