Requirements
  • At least 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree, at least 10 years of work experience with an advanced degree such as a Master's, Master of Business Administration, Juris Doctor, or Doctor of Medicine, or at least 5 years of work experience with a PhD.
Responsibilities
  • Help shape Visa's strategy by identifying industry trends and maintaining relationships with relevant external partners.
  • Source, negotiate, structure, and execute strategic acquisitions across Visa's geographies and businesses.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic investments.
  • Support and shape Visa's growth strategy through identifying, assessing, and executing potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures.
  • Investigate industry trends and growth opportunities within existing businesses and expansion into new areas; form data-grounded points of view and articulate them to stakeholders, including executive management.
  • Conduct valuation and business case modeling analyses to provide guidance regarding potential acquisitions and investments.
  • Partner with Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisitions leaders and business teams on strategy development and realization, and identify corporate development opportunities systematically.
  • Support business unit coverage to maintain an ongoing flow of ideas aligned with business objectives.
  • Track pipeline, market outreach, and deal flow for discussions with business sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Manage detailed diligence processes with Visa colleagues and external advisors; prioritize efforts and escalate critical findings.
  • Identify rationales and risks associated with proposed transactions through spoken and written communications with stakeholders, considering Visa's overall interests.
  • Support Visa's global industry engagement and deal and investment relationships with Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Venture Capital firms.
  • Serve as a Visa interface with partner companies and coordinate investment and other activities with those companies.
  • Contribute to Visa's M&A activities, including developing fellow team members, Corporate Development and M&A practices, and company culture.
  • Develop working relationships grounded in trust, collaboration, respect, and open assistance with teammates.
  • Travel as required for the role.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with financial modeling, valuation, and synergy analysis.
  • Meaningful experience overseeing all aspects of a deal, from idea generation to due diligence and negotiations.
  • Ability to travel for projects, anticipated up to 25%.
  • A proven track record leading mergers and acquisitions transactions and strategic investments as a Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Private Equity professional.
  • Strong understanding of the payments, fintech, or technology sectors with a combination of United States and international experience.
  • Strategic, analytic, and innovative thinking with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership, including the ability to influence executive stakeholders, manage cross-functional teams to business outcomes, and lead multiple transactions simultaneously while delivering broader strategic initiatives.
  • A history of managing, mentoring, and developing junior talent.
