Requirements
  • Grade 12 or a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Experience facilitating groups, public speaking, presentations, and writing reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to speak and understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree culture is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
  • Increase awareness and understanding of issues among First Nations youth.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of awareness and prevention initiatives.
  • Assist in organizing a committee in each community and engage youth to discuss relevant issues and concerns.
  • Participate in developing youth planning in each community.
  • Assist the Prevention and Recovery and Cultural team/program in facilitating grief workshops.
  • Inspire youth to live a healthy lifestyle.
  • Attend meetings, case conferences, and trainings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Woodland Cree culture and practices.
  • Ability to speak and understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree culture.
