Position Summary:
MacroHealth is currently looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join the team in support of our objectives. The role will report to the Director, IT & Security and will be required to work out of our Vancouver, BC Office. Remote work is permitted, with at least two days a week onsite required. Occasional afterhours work, and travel to our Kirkland, Washington USA office will be required from time to time.
The Senior IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing our cloud-based environments used for all internal operations. Plays a key role in managing all backup and recovery processes. Maintains high standards of security and oversees user-management and technical onboarding of new employees. Ships and tracks corporate assets and maintains relationships with external vendors. Demonstrates teamwork and contributes to a positive work environment. Additionally, from time to time as assigned by the Director, IT & Security, the role will also work with the other departments like the Engineering team in support of our Intelligent Healthcare Market Platform (MIX).This role may have direct reports to manage.
Key relationships: Management Teams, Engineering teams, Product Managers/Product Owners, Implementation team, Customer Support & Success teams, Sales & Marketing, People Operations, Finance Operations & Legal.
Key Accountabilities:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining all corporate IT assets in Microsoft 365
- Managing infrastructure for all IT cloud-based environments, excluding our MIX Platform
- Working with stakeholders in support of HIPAA compliance and our SOC2 controls
- Regular review/escalation of system and security logs
- Managing all backup and recovery processes
- Providing end user support for devices and software
- Developing and maintaining IT documentation
- Provide technical support during incidents, including being part of MacroHealth’s Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) program
- Manage Patch management and vulnerability systems
- Identity and Access Management for Onboarding/Offboarding new employees and contractors
- Managing the full life cycle of end user computing devices (Mac, Windows and iOS) from procurement, configuration & deployment to ongoing maintenance and retirement
- Managing Firewalls, IPS/IDS, and Endpoint Protection solutions
- Maintaining relationships with external vendors
- Assist with IT budget and actual spend tracking. Auditing and optimizing license usage
- Ensuring assigned IT projects are delivered to the satisfaction of stakeholders
- Providing formal and informal supervision, guidance, mentorship, and support to less experienced IT staff

Required Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience administering Microsoft 365 services and apps
- At least 5 years of experience deploying and managing Servers (Windows and/or Linux)
- Experience using scripting languages (PowerShell or Shell)
- At least 5 years of experience providing end user support to Mac and Windows users
- At least 3 years of experience managing Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS and PaaS) services from Microsoft Azure
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience working in a HIPAA Compliant environment preferred
- Experience working in environments that use well known security frameworks like NIST, ISO27001, HITRUST and SOC preferred
- Experience managing databases (MongoDb, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL) preferred
- Certification in MS 365, MS Azure considered a plus
- Experience with AI tools like ChatGPT and MS Copilot considered a nice to have
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Services a nice to have
Location: Must be located in Vancouver, BC and able to work onsite 2-3 days/week
Salary: $105,000 - $120,000 DOE
