Position Overview:

As an AI Data Scientist intern within the Discovery Technologies team, you will contribute to developing and implementing AI-powered solutions using AWS Bedrock and other cutting-edge technologies. This paid internship requires on-site presence at our South San Francisco headquarters for approximately 12 weeks, beginning in late May/early June. As an AI Data Scientist intern within the Discovery Technologies team, you will contribute to developing and implementing AI-powered solutions using AWS Bedrock and other cutting-edge technologies. The role focuses on building intelligent agents to enhance our drug discovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy AI agents using AWS Bedrock and Lambda functions
Create interactive front-end applications using Vue.js framework to interact with agents
Design and implement RESTful APIs for AI service integration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand scientific requirements
Document and present technical solutions to stakeholders

Requirements:

Currently enrolled graduate student in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
Programming skills in Python, and scientific computing libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn
Experience with AWS services (Bedrock, Lambda, S3)
Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks
Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Basic understanding of machine learning concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Additional Experience Highly Desirable:

Previous work with large language models (LLMs)
Frontend development using Vue.js
API development and integration experience
Experience with SQL and database technologies (i.e. PostgreSQL or Oracle)
Understanding of software development best practices

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.

Salary Pay Range

$22—$45 USD
