- One accepted medical assistant certification is required, including Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant Certification, Registered Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Certification, National Certified Medical Assistant, or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant.
- The role requires constant standing and walking; frequent oral communication, hearing, lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 pounds, reaching, gripping, keyboard use/data entry, and near/far vision; and occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, repetitive limb movements, lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 pounds, moving patients, odor detection, and driving.
- Assist with provider-ordered treatments under the supervision of a provider or registered nurse and perform select clinical duties.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, record patient information in charts, and prepare examination rooms.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
- Order and stock supplies and help maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Document provider encounters when needed, record diagnoses and symptoms, enter follow-up instructions and prescriptions, and transcribe orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other assigned duties.
