Position Description:
The Unit Specialist I reports to the Director of University Counsel Operations and provides administrative support services to the Office of University Counsel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct support to the Director of Contracts with operating and maintaining the Office’s contracts management system.
Support includes but is not limited to contract data entry and coordination with University units and offices, as needed, to ensure efficient access and use.
Provide direct clerical support to the Office of University Counsel, such as filing, typing, scanning, etc.
Assist in planning of meetings, management of calendars and scheduling for attorneys and other Office personnel.
Greet guests upon arrival to the Office of University Counsel and notify appropriate staff.
Answer and direct phone calls.
Review, edit, and modify formatting in legal documents to make ready for approval and signatures.
Perform document searches as needed.
Manage/order office supplies, as needed.
Manage membership subscriptions to professional legal organizations, payment of dues and related professional expenses, and payment of subscriptions.
Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense reports.
Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of University Counsel Operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and understanding of higher education environment.
Experience in a law firm or in-house counsel environment.

Must possess very strong working relationships, communication, and project management, in order to effectively build and sustain effective collaborative efforts with internal and external partners.
Advanced organizational and communication skills.
Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communications; advanced ability to deal with broad and diverse constituencies with advanced customer service orientation and skills.
Advanced knowledge of the organization, including its infrastructure, goals, mission, rules, policies, guidelines, etc.
Advanced experience with technical platforms including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
