Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field. Degree requirements can be substituted with a combination of years of experience as well as Associate Degree/certifications.
  • Typically requires BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in network administration, with demonstrated expertise in both on-premise enterprise networking and cloud networking.
  • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II/III certification
  • Experience implementing network security practices, including firewall management, network segmentation, and secure connectivity for cloud and on-premise networks.
  • Ability to support troubleshooting to assist in the resolution of complex network issues in a high-stakes, mission-critical environment.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to coordinate across diverse mission partners and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Understanding of on-premise enterprise networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Supports the design, implementation, and management of cloud networking solutions to support hybrid infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Supports seamless integration between on-premise and cloud network environments, maintaining connectivity, security, and scalability.
  • Assists in the development of network architecture strategies that meet the operational requirements of USSOUTHCOM, aligning with DoD standards and best practices.
  • Supports implementation of network security measures, including firewalls, access control policies, and monitoring tools, ensuring robust defense against network-based threats.
  • Assists in network operations and troubleshooting efforts to resolve connectivity issues, network failures, or performance bottlenecks.
  • Supports network configuration and change control, ensuring all changes are documented and compliant with cybersecurity standards.
  • Monitor network performance using advanced monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Assists with cross-functional teams, including cloud architects, cybersecurity, and IT operations, to ensure cohesive network operations across all environments.
  • Supports continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives by identifying areas for increased efficiency, optimization, and the use of emerging technologies in both on-premise and cloud network environments.

  • ITIL Foundation Certification or similar service management qualification
