Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Registration with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
  • 2+ years related work experience in pharmacy.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make decisions that are based on specific instructions, standard practices and established procedures which generally require little or no supervision.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to address problems that are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures and by identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Independence of Action: Ability to follow precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines. Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations. Work progress is monitored by supervisor /manager.

  • Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supply chain operations in the pharmacy, warehouse, and loading docks including, but not limited to: Staging product for deliveries Coordinating with pharmacy and delivery service personnel to ensure accurate transfers Receiving product from delivery companies Stocking of items in designated areas within the warehouse Pick, pack, and ship packages of various sizes Material handling: receiving, unloading, and stocking shelves, inventory cycle counts, product organization and stock rotation
  • Maintaining and procuring inventory of packaging and pharmacy supplies.
  • Maintenance and filing of required recordkeeping and logs.
  • Safe operation of equipment essential to safely and accurately complete assigned duties, including dollies or motorized equipment.
  • Communicates any problems to the supervisor including issues with the merchandise location system or with the merchandise being loaded/unloaded.
  • Cleans up and disposes of boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as routine cleaning and maintenance of pharmacy and loading dock areas, including pharmacy equipment.
  • Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position.
  • Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals Rotates through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business.
