Advance the People Technology team by championing Data and enabling JD to make data-driven decisions with People Data as a source.
As a Junior Data Analyst, you will provide support across all workstreams and be integral in the development, configuration, and deployment of all data activities. You will be technically minded and be able to engage with stakeholders and business subject matter experts.
The JD People team puts the colleague at the heart of what we do to develop a level of service that emulates the JD brand and maximises colleague experience.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in knowledge transfer
- Apply business intelligence, analytics, and reporting knowledge to deliver excellent reporting and analytics
- Identify data-related errors and resolve issues
- Support the end-to-end deployment (design, build, test) and ongoing maintenance of data flows across a wide array of functional areas
- Provide technical support regarding data conversion, integration solution options, report building, analytics and data security
- Implement policies/standards to gain process efficiency and improve data integrity
- Collaborate to constantly improve data reliability and quality
- Manage and meet multiple deadlines and deliverables
- Support the Data Strategy in all aspects of your work
- Create customized reports, summarise key takeaways, make recommendations and propose action plans
- Perform related duties and activities as assigned
- Create and maintain documentation for all data processes
Essential Skills/Experience/Knowledge
- Elevated level of attention to detail with strong administrative and organisational skills and be able to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines
- Be aware of GDPR and be able to act with absolute discretion and confidentiality
- Be data curious, aware of how to use data effectively and aware of new/emerging trends in the data analytics space
- Ensure high data quality through regular quality checks
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Exposure to reporting/analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Strong team player with ability to self-motivate
- Confident and courteous in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Gather and analyse data to guide decision making and improve performance
Optional Skills/Experience/Knowledge
- Experience with HCM solutions in a SaaS environment across multiple territories
- Ability to analyse complex data requirements with a view to the development of data conversion or providing analytic information
- Knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of broad data analytics methodologies; data storytelling; data products
- Awareness of version control concepts
- Familiarity with IT/Data design and development methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, DevOps)
- Experience of Python or other formal programming language
