MINNEAPOLIS - | Nebs in Midland, Ontario now Deluxe Canada was listed as Canada's 20th largest printer. | Deluxe announced that it has entered into agreement to acquire Celero Commerce ("Celero"), a financial technology company focused on optimized payment solutions for small to mid-sized businesses and strategic partners, for $625 million. The transaction advances the ongoing Deluxe transformation strategy to shift the revenue mix towards higher growth Payments and Data segments. | Deluxe Corporation has sales $535 million including their Canadian operation. | Post-closing, the combined Payments and Data businesses are expected to increase to 57% of 2026 revenue, compared to 31% in 2020. Deluxe is the largest cheque printer in the US and also owns NEBS Business Products in Midland, Ontario, now Deluxe Canada was listed as Canada's 20th largest printer. Deluxe Canada out of Midland prints cheques, stationary and business forms. Estimated to be doing sales of $50 million plus. Deluxe Corp sold their Safeguard dealer division in February to Proforma.
Deluxe to acquire payment-processing firm Celero Commerce for $625m. Headquartered in Nashville, Celero Commerce delivered more than $200m in revenue last year. Deluxe has signed a definitive agreement to acquire payment-processing company Celero Commerce in an all-cash deal valued at around $625m, plus payment of certain seller transaction expenses and other adjustments. In a statement yesterday (18 June), Deluxe said the deal advances its ongoing "transformation strategy" to shift the revenue mix towards higher growth Payments and Data segments. On a proforma basis, the combined Payments and Data businesses are expected to represent 57% of 2026 revenues post-closing, compared with 31% in 2020. The company will fund the transaction through committed debt financing. Deluxe president and CEO Barry McCarthy said: "Adding Celero immediately accelerates its transformation and shifts its revenue mix decisively towards its growing Payments and Data segments. Celero has loyal customers, partners, and employees, as well as strong financials and corporate culture, all of which are a natural fit with Deluxe. "Combined, the two companies will broaden its distribution reach and deepen its presence across key verticals including financial institutions, independent software vendors, and independent sales organisation partner channels. "At Deluxe, we have a proprietary, fully-scaled processing platform that will compliment and seamlessly integrate with Celero and their technology to deliver a compelling value proposition for customers." Headquartered in Nashville, Celero Commerce provides payment processing services, business management software, and data intelligence to small and mid-sized businesses. The company delivered more than $200m in revenue last year. Deluxe added the combination is expected to strengthen the "go-to-market" approach through a wider partner network and expanded sales coverage. Celero also brings an established partner base, adding around 60 new partners in 2025, from a base of 375 partners. Last year, Deluxe and Celero processed around $70bn in combined gross transaction volume. Deluxe, which is one of the largest paper-cheque producers in US, further added the transaction is expected to be accretive to adjusted EPS in the first year following closing. Celero Commerce founder and CEO Kevin Jones said: "This is an exciting next chapter for Celero, its employees, partners, and customers. "At Celero, we've always focused on helping businesses thrive through innovative technology, exceptional service, and strong strategic partnerships. Deluxe shares those values, and this combination allows us to accelerate that mission faster than we could have independently." The transaction is subject to US regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Closing is expected in the third quarter of 2026.

Eye on acquiring: Finix adds an unattended POS terminal; Deluxe checks in at Dollar Bank. Finix Payments Inc. is leaning into the unattended payments arena with the launch of its Android-based point-of-sale terminal designed for self-service payments. In related news, Deluxe Corp. formed a merchant services partnership with Dollar Bank. San Francisco-based Finix says its new POS terminal is meant to meet demand for contactless, self-service kiosks in the retail and hospitality segments. The device comes configured to operate the Finix Payment App. Among its features are universal payment-acceptance support, including for dipped and contactless transactions. The Android-based interface uses a touchscreen, which Finix says will look familiar to customers using the unattended payments device. "Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for businesses to accept payments anywhere, whether a staff member is present or not," Richie Serna, Finix chief executive and cofounder, says in a statement. "Customers expect the same fast, easy checkout experience at a kiosk that they get at a traditional checkout counter." In related news, Deluxe says it will provide Pittsburgh-based Dollar Bank with cloud infrastructure and data access capabilities that will aid the bank's payment-acceptance options. Minneapolis-based Deluxe says Dollar Bank, which has approximately $12.2 billion in assets and 91 branches, will expand its community-bank presence. In the first quarter, Deluxe, best known for check printing, generated $104.9 million in merchant-services revenue, up 7.3% from $97.8 million in the year-ago quarter.
