Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR (22 CFR 120–130) and eligible to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
  • Have at least 2 years of CMM inspection experience.
  • Have at least 1 year of independent PC-DMIS programming experience, including writing and editing programs rather than only running existing programs.
  • Have First Article Inspection (FAI) experience and data reporting experience.
  • Have working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Be able to troubleshoot CMM faults.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be willing to work overtime.
  • Be able to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Perform first-piece, lot, in-process, and final inspections against customer requirements and print specifications.
  • Write, revise, and optimize Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs using PC-DMIS to reflect customer print specification requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret CMM reports and inspection data to determine adherence to customer prints and specifications.
  • Create CMM setup and operational instructions specific to each part and machine.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including written descriptions of results and statistical analysis.
  • Support the quality control team with first article, in-process, and final inspection activities as needed.
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance of CMM machines and ensure programs and inspection data are stored and backed up correctly.
  • Keep CMM software, including PC-DMIS, up to date and maintained.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and interpret ASME Y14.5M in inspection and programming work.
  • Maintain current knowledge of GD&T standards, terminology, and inspection methodologies.
  • Follow internal inspection procedures and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Maintain the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system according to company policy.
  • Provide technical assistance to production, manufacturing engineering, and quality personnel as needed.
  • Keep current with industry inspection techniques, practices, and required standards.
  • Perform other assigned duties, including calibration, audits, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), customer complaints, and return merchandise authorizations (RMAs).
  • Assure assigned activities are performed in accordance with the Quality Management System.
