Summary: Onbe’s legal team is seeking a Contract Specialist to prepare, track and manage client and vendor contracts (including master services agreements, statements of work, amendments, non-disclosure agreements) in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. The Contracts Specialist will work closely with legal counsel and business stakeholders to ensure all contracts meet legal and business requirements, track status and implement process improvements.
We are open to candidates that don’t have legal or contracts experience. Experience working in an office setting is preferred. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The role demands strong written and oral communication, professionalism, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with teams across Onbe.
This role is a hybrid role that will work onsite 1-2 days per week at our Buffalo Grove, IL location. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position. #LinkedIn-Hybrid
Responsibilities
- Prepare standard contracts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage contract lifecycle using CLM and CRM tools, including routing contracts for approvals, tracking progress, and ensuring proper execution
- Ensure contract terms comply with legal department requirements and policies, in consultation with legal counsel
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve contract-related issues, with guidance from legal counsel
- Track and regularly report on key metrics related to contract lifecycle management
- Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes
- Recognize need for issue escalation
- Manage rapidly changing or competing priorities
- Deliver high-quality experiences for internal and external clients
- Ability to stay organized and multitask in a professional and efficient manner
- Handle a large volume of matters, including a combination of small and large contracts, in an organized and efficient manner
- Other projects and duties as directed by legal counsel
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment, with experience in an operations support role OR relevant contracts experience
- Prior experience with contract drafting, negotiation, and legal document management is preferred but not required
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Proven ability to work autonomously while maintaining a high level of accountability and delivering results
- Demonstrated executive presence and professionalism in managing relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of industry business practices and contract administration principles, as well as some exposure to contract negotiations is a plus
- Experience with a CLM platform is a plus
- Fintech and payments experience is a plus
The base salary range for this position is between $67,140.00 to $79,800.00, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
