- Hold and retain a relevant H/CFC universal license.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of experience with commercial rooftop units, boilers, makeup air units, air handling units, fans, pumps, cooling towers, variable air volume/fan-powered box systems, automation systems, and chillers.
- Understand hydronic systems and direct-expansion cooling circuits and components.
- Have working knowledge of trade materials and tools.
- Be able to work in outside, inside, dusty, noisy, hazardous, high, tight, confined, and otherwise adverse locations and in all types of weather.
- Be able to climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch.
- Be able to lift and carry the stated loads and exert the stated forces.
- Service, maintain, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including rooftop units, boilers, chillers, air handling units, variable air volume systems, and exhaust systems.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues in large-scale commercial equipment.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure reliability, efficiency, and code compliance.
- Troubleshoot building automation systems, controls, and sensors.
- Read and interpret commercial blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
- Perform detailed system inspections and identify deficiencies or potential failures.
- Complete quality-control inspections on completed service work to ensure company standards are met.
- Respond to emergency service calls and minimize downtime for commercial clients.
- Document service activities, findings, and repair recommendations accurately.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, Environmental Protection Agency requirements, and local mechanical codes.
- Communicate technical information with facility managers, engineers, and project teams.
