Requirements
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of strong backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture is required.
  • Experience in full-stack development is required; modern frontend frameworks such as Vue or React are preferred.
  • Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, schema design, and performance tuning is required.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services for compute, storage, networking, and observability is required.
  • Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and distributed systems is required.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, DevOps practices, and monitoring tools is required.
  • The candidate must be able to lead and mentor engineering teams.
  • The candidate must demonstrate ownership, accountability, clear structured thinking, communication, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to operate in ambiguity.

Responsibilities
  • Enforce and evolve engineering practices involving clean, maintainable, testable code, code reviews, continuous integration and continuous delivery, automation, observability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Lead end-to-end design and delivery of scalable, high-performance applications.
  • Lead development and maintenance of live production systems and legacy applications while progressively modernizing the platform.
  • Balance business continuity with technical evolution and reduce technical debt without affecting client delivery.
  • Own system architecture decisions across frontend, backend, and data layers.
  • Drive full-stack development with a strong focus on Java backend development and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Ensure systems are resilient, observable, and production-ready.
  • Champion shift-left quality by ensuring testability, observability, and validation from design through production.
  • Drive unit testing, integration testing, and automation as part of development and embed quality checks within the development lifecycle.
  • Lead a squad of junior- to mid-level engineers through technical guidance, mentorship, expectations, and coaching.
  • Partner with Product Managers to understand business priorities and translate them into technical execution plans.
  • Drive clarity in requirements, scope, and trade-offs and align business goals with engineering outcomes.
  • Leverage approved artificial-intelligence coding assistants responsibly to improve productivity and speed.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of systems and deliverables and remain accountable for timelines, quality, and production stability.
  • Identify risks, resolve blockers, and drive outcomes independently.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through documentation, technical talks, and workshops.
  • Present delivery outcomes and business impact to stakeholders through clear, structured, data-driven communication.

Operating income increased 28.4% to $160.6 million, whilst adjusted operating income rose 22.7%. Diluted earnings per share climbed 35.4% to $2.83, with adjusted diluted earnings per share up 29.2% to $3.10. Free cash flow surged 96.3% to $122.5 million. CEO Kunal Kapoor highlighted the company's focus on building agentic workflows atop its data and research, plus helping investors navigate converging public and private markets. Morningstar debuts AI exit timing tool as shares trade 26% above estimated fair value

Morningstar embeds investment intelligence into Microsoft 365 Copilot with AI integrations
