Requirements
- State of California Registered Nurse license required
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support required
- ACLS certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment for those hired/transferred into Operating Room position on or after March 1, 2024
- Minimum of one year operating room nurse experience in an acute care hospital or multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center
- Acute care hospital operating room experience within the last five years preferred
- Computer documentation skills preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies

Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, assess and provide nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department
- Apply the nursing process to perform circulating and/or scrub nurse duties for procedures throughout Surgical Services
- Orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned
- Must be able to take call per hospital on-call policy guidelines
- Float to Outpatient Surgery Operating Room as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Education section lists this as preferred)
- PALS certification preferred
- Desirable: ACLS certification noted as required for certain hires but already categorized under Requirements; otherwise none
