Requirements
  • BEng Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with ideally a minimum 5 years of aircraft interiors mechanical/structural design engineering industrial experience
  • Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organization (or equivalent) is preferable
  • Awarded CVE in previous DOH
  • CATIA V5 and/or AutoCAD industrial experience
  • Knowledge and experience of aircraft interior reconfiguration programmes and primary and secondary aircraft structures is preferable
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal forming/fabrication/machining
  • Working knowledge of aircraft material and fastener selection, hole size types, sealants & finishing
  • Able to demonstrate a extensive knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, CS-25, CFR Part 25 & Part 21J design organizations
  • A high level of attention to detail and professional integrity
  • Ability to work on multiple programmes with varying level of requirements efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to priorities workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demands
Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Interiors Engineering Manager and working with the global engineering services team, across multiple time-zones, in order to identify requirements and their associated solutions for active and upcoming projects
  • Providing the independent checking function as part of the company's EASA Design Organisation and design assurance system
  • Enabling the development and type certification of major and minor changes
  • Working closely with all global engineering Design and Certification Teams Developing engineering design solutions with the use of CAD for modifications to aircraft cabin systems
  • Producing and reviewing substantiation documents in order to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory and operational requirements
  • Compiling engineering accomplishment documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness including Service Bulletins / accomplishment instructions and Aircraft and component manual supplements
  • Attending various meetings and representing Boeing on aircraft surveys and on-site installation support at various locations, UK and overseas
  • Supporting statement of work and bids for new customer requests
  • Creating engineering solutions that exceed customer expectations on time and within budget
  • Undertaking all manner of design projects from simple changes to complex STCs
  • Attending multiple instructor-led training courses for hard and soft skills improvement
