Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service or station operations experience, preferably including passenger service, station operations, cargo handling, ground operations, personnel administration, shift scheduling, bargaining unit administration, and budget controls.
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • A bachelor's degree, or two additional years of relevant training or experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Understanding of international and UK aviation standards, including International Civil Aviation Organization regulations, International Air Transport Association procedures, and UK Civil Aviation Authority publications.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and airline industry standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with other teams and workgroups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and non-standard shifts.
  • Authorization to work in the UK and eligibility for required airport security clearance and an Airside Pass, including employment-history, criminal-record, and right-to-work checks.
  • Ability to travel to the United States without restrictions.
Responsibilities
  • Manage daily airport station operations and establish priorities for station operations and employees.
  • Execute necessary strategy, plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts as needed.
  • Make decisions across station functions, including customer service, ticketing, baggage handling, cargo operations, passenger security, ramp services, and reservations, while ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, regulations, and airport-authority requirements.
  • Represent the company in the community through public-relations activities.
  • Manage station resources, including facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Develop employees through performance management, ongoing feedback, delegation, and team capacity and growth initiatives.
  • Supervise labor-contract administration as needed.
  • Liaise with oneworld Alliance partners and regulatory bodies, including the Civil Aviation Authority, Federal Aviation Administration, and Transportation Security Administration.
  • Shape the team's culture through actions, presence, and reinforcement of expected behaviors.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with European Union Aviation Safety Agency frameworks, particularly for cross-border aviation operations.
  • Five years of previous station leadership experience.
  • Experience in a transatlantic airport operations environment.
  • Fluency in other European languages.
  • Knowledge of Sabre, Image, or similar airline platforms.
