Job Summary:
The successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team conducting biomedical research on human volunteers with an emphasis on respiratory and metabolic disease processes including asthma and obesity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs procedures for research and ensures participant safety as described in the research protocols, including adipose tissue biopsies, spirometry, sputum induction, and other minimally invasive techniques
Independently conducts participant study visits and directs research nurse(s) and other study staff.
Utilizes knowledge of disease processes to observe for and report adverse events in a timely and accurate manner to the Principal Investigator, DSMB and all regulatory authorities (IRB, Sponsor, FDA, NIH, etc.) as required by protocol, policies and procedures and regulations.
• Record health history, perform physical exams, and make study-related medication changes according to departmental and research protocols.
Obtains and interprets laboratory tests according to departmental and research protocols.
Independently prepares and maintains critical documents required by the institution and study sponsor(s) during and after the conduct of a clinical trial.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Maintains CEUs, and membership in a professional organization.
Tennessee APN certificate required, eligible for DEA license
