  • Bachelors Degree or 4+ years' experience in a quality leadership role
  • Prior experience in a highly regulated industry: healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food), cannabis. Highly desirable: FDA, HACCP, SQF experience
  • Prior experience with product sampling, inspection procedures, customer complaints, product investigations, and CAPA
  • Prior experience in regulatory agency audits and correspondence
  • Ability to follow written procedures and monitor others for adherence to written procedures
  • Ability to create or update written procedures with site operations personnel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing executive summaries and communicating with senior level operations
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Utilizes critical thinking to troubleshoot issues, work collaboratively with a team to brainstorm solutions, and implement improvement solutions
  • Manage personnel, including performance management, setting goals, priorities, etc
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for management of site QA staff
  • Performs incoming material/packaging component, in process product, and finished product sampling and inspection
  • Performs packaging and label review
  • Hosts management product reviews
  • Performs product line clearances and cleaning/sanitation verification clearances
  • Manages and writes quality investigations, helping to assess risk, identify root cause, corrective/preventative actions and implements solutions with business partners
  • Logs quality incidents, holds, deviations, and CAPAs
  • Assists in change management
  • Assists with QMS document writing and revisions
  • Inspects packaged orders to ensure correct content and quantities
  • Inspects retain samples
  • Manages quality related, cross departmental projects
  • Conducts testing such as ATP, shelf-life, and moisture
  • Works with 3rd party partners such as testing labs, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and purchasers
  • Reviews batch documentation, logbooks, and test results
  • Discusses issues and concerns directly with line personnel and operations management so any corrections and improvements can be made in a timely manner
  • Performs inspections and audits as assigned
  • Consolidates technical information and data into formal reports including but not limited to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual updates
  • Monitors adherence to established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Provides recommendations for product quarantine, destruction, rework, withdrawal/recall to operations and quality management
  • Conducts all duties in compliance with safety rules, applicable SOPs, and other applicable guidelines
  • Assists in executing compliance and EHS duties as needed
  • <5% travel to other facilities and states to help with new market launches, training, etc
