Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or other health related field; Preferred: Bachelor's RN or Medical Microbiologist; Certification Required: Certified Infection Control (CIC); License Preferred: Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days if applicable; Three (3) years in Infection Control (Required); Five (5) years related experience in nursing, microbiology, utilization review, education (Preferred); Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree; 2+ to 5 years experience
Responsibilities
- Monitors and investigates known or suspected sources of infections in order to determine the source and ensure control.
- Reviews, analyzes, and implements regulations, standards, and/or guidelines of applicable governmental agencies and professional organizations.
- Collaborates in the development and delivery of educational programs and/or tools that relate to infection prevention, control, and epidemiology
- Reports infection surveillance, prevention and control information to local, state and federal public health authorities in accordance with law and regulation.
- Serves as the infection prevention consultant for multiple departments.
