Mission and Responsabilities :
The HSE Design Department (HSED) covers four different disciplines: Safety Engineering, Risk Quantification, Environment & Occupational Health, Acoustic & Vibration.
You will integrate into a team of HSE Design engineers focussed on one of the Technip Energies (T.EN) projects (oil and gas (onshore/offshore), petrochemical, energy transition, mining, pharmacy) as HSED Lead. You will report to the HSED Heads of Department and the Engineering Manager of the project you are involved in. You will manage a team of HSED engineers including organisation of the team and checking of deliverables/activities. You will be responsible for the schedule and the budget of HSED activities.
On Project, you will interface with the Client, the Partners, the Third parties/ Classification & Certification societies, the Project Management Team and the other disciplines like Process, Piping, Civil, Instrumentation, etc.
You will be assisted by four discipline Leads (Safety Lead, Risk Quantification Lead, Environmental Lead, Acoustic Lead), and supported by experts and engineers having well-established experience on similar projects.
Your principal duties will be to:
- Identify, analyse and quantify the risks and the HSE impacts
- Recommend the measures to decrease the risk at an acceptable level,
- Design and implement prevention, control, mitigation, and protection measures/ safety systems
- Provide safe design which ensure to protect Personnel, Environment and Assets,
by managing the HSED team carrying-out the following activities and associated deliverables:
- Preliminary risk analysis,
- Safety reviews participation (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, etc.),
- Plot plan reviews, and 3D model reviews
- Identification of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) & associated Criticality rating
- Hazardous area classification,
- Passive fire-protection,
- Cold spill protection,
- Active fire-protection (firewater pumps station design, fire-fighting network and deluge systems studies, hydraulic balance calculations),
- Flammable gas, toxic gas and fire detection,
- Personnel protection,
- Escape, Evacuation & Rescue,
- Specification and requisition for firefighting and personnel protection equipment, technical bid evaluation and vendor follow-up,
- Consequence (physical effects) modelling to assess Safety distances and Design accidental loads,
- Quantitative Risk Assessment and other Safety studies (FERA, EERA, DOS, etc.) follow-up,
- RAM (Reliabilty, Availability, Maintainability) Studies follow-up,
- Environmental and health impact studies (air and marine dispersion studies, noise and vibration studies, spill pollution control, waste management, etc.).
You and your team are expected to develop deliverables of good quality considering the Project constraints (e.g. contractual requirements, budget & schedule).
In parallel, your background and project feedback must be formalized and shared by mentoring and training young engineers, and by participating in facilitation of trainings & technical presentations, development of R&D subjects, and writing project close-out report.
Career development within the HSE Design entity will be offered to you: HSE Design Lead of large-scaled EPC, Expert, Head of Department.
