Job Description
Medline is looking for a driven business systems analyst with high learning agility and experience implementing warehouse management systems or warehouse automation such as Goods to Person, Pick/Put to Light, and Sortation. This individual will leverage strong communication skills and technical expertise to integrate automated solutions into our logistics landscape. This role requires collaboration with Software developers, automation vendors, business partners, Operations and IT leaders, end-users, and customers. (This position must be based in a Medline facility 3 days a week. This individual can work out of any of Medline’s US facilities. Our corporate offices are in the Chicago area)
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of warehouse management functionality and configurations including but not limited to picking, packing, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
Present innovative options for addressing the requests at hand and recommend the best course of action based on requirements coverage and effort required.
Perform functional analysis for designing solutions, evaluating options that include, but are not limited to new software development, configuration of existing systems, business process redesign, new package/system evaluation or a combination of these options.
Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with users/customers and management to determine business needs and translate them to system requirements.
Serve as point person for addressing issues and enhancements related to the specific product and functional area.
Deliver software requirements to developers and serve as the developer’s point of contact for clarification and follow-up throughout the development process.
Manage implementation plans for releasing system enhancements or new Software solutions to production.
Drive process improvement within the team as we continue to grow with agile and DevOps tools and methodologies.
Focus on quality during all phases of Software development, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation.
To qualify, you must possess the following:
3+ years of business systems analyst experience and working with cross-functional teams.
1+ years of experience working with logistics/WMS systems.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or similar.
High learning agility. The position will often require learning new areas of business and new software.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Curiosity to dig into how systems work and be hands-on throughout the development life cycle.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning, and task delegation.
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with reporting tools (ie: Crystal Reports, Loftware, Tableau, etc.)
Experience with various integration protocols such as XML, JSON, SOAP, REST, API
Experience with implementing or supporting automated material handling systems.
Experience in an operations/distribution environment. Engineering or Systems experience.
Solid understanding of scrum and agile principles
Proficient in reading and/or writing SQL.
Experience with DevOps tools (ie. Jira, Zephyr, Splunk, SonarQube, etc.)
