Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structures or an equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural project design, including the supervision of technical resources.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec.
  • Proficiency in the National Building Code of Canada.
  • Proficiency in standards CSA A23.3 for concrete and CSA S16 for steel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAFI software or equivalents such as ETABS, SAP, or Advance Design.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
  • Perform structural design for building projects within substation and power plant environments.
  • Perform design for substation civil engineering projects for Hydro-Quebec and other clients in Canada and the United States.
  • Execute projects related to the design of transmission towers for Hydro-Quebec.
  • Conduct field surveys and inspections in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in the preparation of plans, specifications, and quantity and cost estimates.
  • Contribute to structural expertise assessments for reinforced concrete and steel structures.
  • Verify the compliance of drawings, calculations, and technical data sheets.
  • Monitor the quality of construction work and respond to site correspondence.
  • Supervise the updating of as-built and final drawings.
  • Lead and supervise a small technical team including engineers-in-training, technicians, and drafters.
  • Monitor project schedules and collaborate with the project manager on budget control.
  • Communicate with clients and external professionals to ensure effective project coordination.
  • Participate in the drafting of service proposals.
