Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership role
  • Proven experience building large-scale cloud-native distributed systems using AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OCI
  • Strong expertise in Java, Python, Node.js, or Ruby/Rails
  • Deep understanding of microservices, API design, Kubernetes, Docker, messaging systems, and distributed architectures
  • Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular
  • Experience building or integrating AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector Databases, or AI orchestration frameworks
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, or similar AI coding assistants
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, design patterns, secure coding, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or CDA
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, healthcare security, and data privacy regulations
Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the architecture of scalable, distributed healthcare platforms.
  • Champion AI-First Software Engineering practices across the development lifecycle.
  • Lead the adoption of AI-Augmented Development, including spec-driven development, AI-assisted coding, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Establish engineering standards, Cursor/AI coding guidelines, reusable patterns, and governance for responsible AI usage.
  • Provide hands-on leadership in architecture, coding, design reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Mentor engineers and foster an engineering culture that embraces continuous learning and AI-driven innovation.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud-native services and APIs supporting healthcare interoperability (FHIR, HL7, CDA).
  • Build highly available microservices leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, cloud-native technologies, and modern data platforms.
  • Develop and integrate Agentic AI workflows leveraging enterprise AI platforms and healthcare data.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development workflows to accelerate feature delivery while improving software quality.
  • Lead the adoption of Spec-Driven Development, where engineering specifications serve as the foundation for AI-generated implementations.
  • Promote the use of AI to generate production-ready code, unit tests, test cases, documentation, and automation artifacts.
  • Partner with QA teams to establish AI-assisted development and testing workflows that improve engineering quality.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks and define best practices for integrating them into the engineering lifecycle.
  • Drive measurable improvements in engineering productivity through responsible AI adoption.
  • Partner with Product Management, UX, Clinical teams, AI Engineers, and Platform Engineering to deliver innovative healthcare solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Security, Compliance, QA, and DevOps to ensure secure, reliable, HIPAA-compliant software delivery.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between Development and QA through shared AI-assisted engineering workflows.
  • Lead research, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, AI copilots, and AI-assisted software engineering.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices through automation and AI.
  • Contribute to engineering strategy, architecture standards, and technical roadmaps.
