Requirements
  • A high school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with organizational, customer service, and prioritization skills is required.
  • CPR certification is required within three months of hire.
  • The position requires exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and use of universal precautions.
  • The position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and lifting or exerting force up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the RN Team Lead or Clinical Nurse Administrator as part of a multidisciplinary team providing assistance with patient and unit needs.
  • Perform clerical duties and tasks that keep the patient unit supplied, safe, and clean.
  • Report observed changes in patient behavior or condition to the primary nurse and communicate health-related complaints to the RN or LPN.
  • Call the appropriate emergency code when needed.
  • Assist patients safely with ambulation and mobilization, including transfers to and from beds or chairs for bathroom needs.
  • Conduct room safety sweeps and remove potentially hazardous items when possible.
  • Monitor applied restraints for patient safety and comfort.
  • Assist with dressing and undressing patients and secure clothing and belongings according to company standards.
  • Deliver meal trays and assist with meal setup.
  • Document observations, including restraints, in the medical record within designated timeframes.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and refer patient complaints to the nurse.
  • Maintain professional and personal boundaries and infection-prevention standards.
  • Answer call lights and obtain appropriate resources for patient needs.
  • Perform hourly rounding for patient experience and safety checks according to unit standards.
  • Stock equipment and supplies and monitor for expired items.
  • Transport patients within the hospital as needed.
  • Answer telephones and complete other assigned clerical duties.
  • Maintain overall unit organization and cleanliness.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior healthcare experience is preferred.
