Requirements
  • The candidate must be proficient in using personal computers, have strong keyboarding skills, and be able to multitask across multiple software applications.
  • The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, specifically payer-related requirements, sufficient to facilitate compliant billing and authorization management.
  • The candidate must possess strong time management skills and be able to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively with multiple interruptions.
  • Microsoft application experience is required.
  • The candidate must be able to work in high-stress environments while maintaining composure.
  • A minimum of seven hours of keyboarding per day is expected.
  • Pre-service operations require telephony experience in a call center environment.
  • The candidate must be able to diffuse angry customers and handle pressure with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated experience dealing effectively and compassionately with sensitive situations.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate scheduling, registration, insurance and payer eligibility management, financial screening activities, and admission-discharge-transfer order management activities.
  • Navigate complex regulatory requirements and coordinate activities across multiple information systems to support physician and hospital operations.
  • Deliver a caring, streamlined, transparent, and cohesive customer service experience for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for staff by providing support, direction, and service recovery when needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Obtaining NAHAM or HBI certification and maintaining certification requirements is encouraged.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic coding is strongly preferred.
