Redwood Materials focuses on battery recycling and the supply chain for lithium-ion batteries. The company recycles used batteries to produce anode and cathode materials, which are essential components for battery production. This process not only provides a domestic source of these materials but also reduces the environmental impact and costs associated with transporting critical metals over long distances. Unlike many competitors who rely on overseas production, Redwood Materials offers a sustainable solution by supplying U.S. cell manufacturers with recycled materials. The goal of Redwood Materials is to create a more sustainable battery production process and support the growing demand for lithium-ion batteries, which is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.
