Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of prior experience in a Shift Supervisor or House Manager role in a shelter, transitional housing, or permanent supportive housing setting is required.
  • Experience working with the New York City Department of Homeless Services or another similar city-operated organization is required.
  • An FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems is required.
  • The candidate must be willing to obtain CPR certification while employed.
  • The candidate must be willing to obtain a New York City Food Handler's Certificate while employed for designated single sites and as needed by the program.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds is required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor the facility to ensure cleanliness, security, and effective safety practices.
  • Supervise and monitor the therapeutic environment to ensure behavioral guidelines are followed, a therapeutic milieu is maintained, and interpersonal relationships remain positive.
  • Conduct fire and safety runs throughout the facility and ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Review the selection of client escorts for appointments to ensure the selections are appropriate.
  • Review internal and external client appointments scheduled for the shift and ensure attendance.
  • Participate in required training and pass certifications, including CPR, First Aid, Food Handler, and F-80 certifications.
  • Maintain familiarity with the daily program schedule to ensure activities occur on time and all scheduled parties attend.
  • Serve as lead to Shift Supervisors as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
