Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Professional Engineering license preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience developing EV charging infrastructure. Experience in the design and construction of building systems or similar projects is acceptable for consideration.
  • Ability to convey technical concepts and complex topics appropriately tailored to the audience type.
  • Thorough understanding of technical electrical concepts and details, experience taking projects from initial concepts to real world implementation through traditional design, bid, build process.
  • Established ability to troubleshoot and remedy issues relating to site commissioning.
  • Strong engagement with product standard bodies such as SAE, UL IEC and NEC.
  • Expert level understanding of the National Electrical Code and its implementation.
  • Demonstration of clear communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Ability to build long term relationships and grow influence.
  • Demonstration of complex problem-solving skills in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
  • This individual will serve as technical subject matter expert and integrate with a team of Development Managers.
  • Evaluation of DCFC products and their implementation path will be under the purview of this role.
  • Developing standard documents and design guidance for implementation of DCFC charge stations.
  • Conducting design review sessions on construction documents developed by Architecture/Engineering vendors.
  • Interface and develop relationships with equipment manufacturers, organize the procurement process and buy out of electrical equipment. This may include switchboards, transformers, EV chargers and other directly procured products.
  • Liasoning with utility companies and providing technical guidance for use in service applications and load calculations.
  • Identify and communicate risks related to design, implementation and operations of the EV charger systems. Work with team members to develop and execute mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Stay current with latest technologies and regulatory standards in relation to utility demand management & DER integration as well as Electric Vehicle Charging.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for vendor led commissioning of charging equipment.
  • Provide technical support to the operations group for charging equipment related matters.
