The Opportunity
Kargo is seeking a Media Strategy Intern! The Media Strategy Intern will support the Media Strategy team in all aspects of the Request for Proposal (RFP) life cycle for multiple Account Executives. The Media Strategy team is responsible for developing client campaign strategies, building RFP decks, crafting media plans, and designing custom targeting profiles. As an intern within the Media Strategy team, you will be working with fellow team members on the pre-sale portion of multiple campaigns. You will learn how to compile RFP decks from a collection of templatized and customizable slides, how to build media plans that match each client’s unique requirements, and how to set up thorough targeting profiles and site lists for each campaign. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with both internal and external teams, honing essential skills like communication, organization, and prioritization to set you up for success in the dynamic world of media strategy.
There’s so much to discover as part of the Media Strategy team! This dynamic group collaborates cross-functionally with all teams at Kargo, giving you a unique chance to influence dozens of ad campaigns for household brand names and top-tier companies. As a member of this team, you’ll gain advanced insights into the digital advertising industry, develop a deep understanding of the RFP life cycle, and build a wealth of tactical skills, including expertise in Google Slides and deck creation, Excel, media planning, media math, strategic copywriting, basic ad design, and project management.
The Daily To-Do
- Build custom RFP decks using templatized and customizable slides
- Craft media plans that accurately reflect the client’s rates, impressions, flight dates, and unit mix
- Design targeting profiles that help clients reach their most engaged and interested audiences
- Compile custom site lists for clients who need specific site parameters met
- Work with the Ad Design team to build static and animated mocks for potential unit executions
- Support the Media Strategy team as a whole, shadow Media Strategists to continue to learn new techniques and skillsets, and engage in regular one-on-one sessions with two dedicated Media Strategy coaches to deepen your expertise in the industry and at Kargo
Qualifications
- This year, we’ll be prioritizing candidates who are rising undergraduate seniors or who are pursuing postgraduate studies. All interns are required to be eligible to work in the U.S. with no visa sponsorship.
- Interested in media, ad tech, advertising, and digital marketing
- Proficient in Google Slides, Microsoft Excel, and other media tools
- Creative thinker, ability to bring fresh innovative ideas to life and align them with media strategies
- Proactive, possessing a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills
- Embodies professional maturity, integrity, discipline, and a positive attitude
- Self-motivator with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Outgoing and interested in meeting new people as well as developing internal relationships
- Must be a recent graduate, or a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, etc.
