Requirements
  • An Associate's degree in HVAC or an equivalent qualification from a two-year college or technical school, equivalent related training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience, preferably in a commercial or industrial facility, with an emphasis on facility maintenance and experience with electrical systems, building equipment, and building repairs.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to climb stairs and walk on uneven and narrow surfaces.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, stretch, and stoop.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move products, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Perform minor repairs and services across maintenance disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical work, finish work, painting, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, excluding building property management work.
  • With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to calls as required, and complete assigned preventive maintenance work and procedures.
  • Help ensure that building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations, safety systems, and standards are followed and enforced.
  • Handle occasional nontechnical facility repairs, such as hanging pictures, repairing desks, and repairing ceilings.
  • Travel overnight periodically for approximately one week every other month.
