Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or other technical field
  • 8+ years of systems development and process improvement experience
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate, and work effectively with interdisciplinary and multi-functional teams
  • Knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems.
  • A thorough understanding of the objectives & value of Systems Engineering
  • Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness and strong problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Partly self-directed and balance several tasks at one time.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
  • Establish, supervise, document and improve processes specific to systems engineering consistent with industry best practices while maintaining the speed, agility and efficiency of a development organization.
  • Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests to optimize the organizational approach to system definition and execution.
  • Work with internal customers and tool developers to refine requirements and implement model-based programs and tools
  • Chair/run System Engineering working groups and best practice groups to define the model based strategy
  • Develop strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability), integration, analysis and verification
  • Mentor and educate Blue Origin employees on systems engineering processes and methods. Develop and present training materials
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing process/tool improvement projects, including requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost
  • Experience with requirements development/management tools; (DNG/ETM, Jama), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (preferably Windchill)
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
  • Experience deploying Model-Based Systems Engineering processes and tools
  • Experience leading Continuous Improvement projects and driving Corrective Actions.
  • Strong understanding of safety-critical systems development (aerospace or equivalent)
  • Experience in reliability, maintainability and supportability analysis and execution
  • Experience coaching and mentoring others while leading improvement projects
  • Experience in making routine presentations to large groups and executive level employees
