  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Advanced degree (MBA) is highly desirable
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in a strategic leadership role overseeing financial matters
  • Prior experience in a similar role at a public, clinical stage biopharmaceutical company is highly desirable
  • Outstanding financial management skills including accounting, financial reporting, and controls
  • Ability to manage with integrity and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop teams
  • Ability to function in a rapidly growing environment and demonstrate creativity and innovative strategies
  • Ability to work as a team player in collaboration with all functional leaders within the company
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting and finance operations
  • Develop strong relationships with key business leaders
  • Manage relationships with internal and external auditors and finance consultants
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team
  • Establish and maintain financial processes, internal controls, and accounting policies
  • Oversee internal and external reporting functions
  • Lead communications with the audit committee
  • Provide development, oversight, and management of the organization’s cash and investment strategy
  • Manage external tax advisors and insurance coverage for the organization
  • Represent the Finance department and support cross-functional initiatives and communications
  • Support fundraising or transactions as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
