Ornata retrofits tractors, sprayers, windrowers, and other farm implements with discreet hardware that lets remote operators start and control the equipment at the push of a button. Trained operators conduct real-time field surveys and follow pre-planned routes to drive the machinery from a remote location, coordinating by phone or radio while farmers supervise from their end. This approach extends the life of older machines and lowers labor costs by eliminating the need to hire, train, or manage seasonal staff, all while retaining farmer oversight. The goal is to provide a dependable, scalable way to automate field tasks with human-in-the-loop control, reducing overhead and keeping machinery in use.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Ornata demoed live remote deep-ripping at evokeAG 2026, proving product readiness.
  • August 2026 careers pages list multiple openings, signaling active expansion in Victoria.
  • Its service fits labor-short broadacre farms needing harvest, spraying, and seeding support now.

What critics are saying

  • John Deere's 2026 autonomy rollout commoditizes tillage autonomy and raises farmer switching costs.
  • Remote operation exposes Ornata to catastrophic safety liability during a single field incident.
  • If retrofit autonomy stalls, larger vendors will capture the entire market by 2030.

What makes Ornata unique

  • Ornata retrofits existing tractors and implements, avoiding replacement cycles on farms.
  • Its 24/7 remote operations center pairs human operators with autonomy software.
  • July 2026 hiring shows a full-stack model across robotics, safety, and field service.
