Responsible for data and financial analysis and other special projects/related work to support revenue cycle operations at the enterprise, regional and local business level. This position is expected to perform analytical work with limited supervision and with full responsibility for various projects and report/data production.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, or Hospital Administration or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three (3) years of data analysis, Health information management (HIM), or Informatics Program experience in a healthcare setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s Degree.
2. Lean Six Sigma Experience and Certification.
3. Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) with the Hospital Financial Management Association (HFMA).
4. Five (5) years of data analysis experience in a healthcare setting.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience with Epic data extraction.
2. Experience with the development and maintenance of metrics and communication dashboards.
3. Experience with various data extraction and visualization tools such as Excel, Power Point, Tableau, etc.
4. Experience in Revenue Cycle preferred.

1. Collaboratively interacts with Information Technology, Patient Access, Financial Services, HPN, and Decision Support
2. Remains current with how information is collected, maintained and reported in all key systems.
3. Identifies data uses and develops analysis opportunities that are currently not used. Extracts and defines relevant information from the electronic health record related to client/patient, insurance or other revenue cycle/business operations data
4. Maintains technical knowledge and expertise in understanding patient access, clinician utilization, healthcare revenues, reimbursement and the correlation to the monthly financial statements
5. Completes complex financial/operational analysis from beginning to end with minimal supervision or direction from supervisor. Maintains and continually improves on technical skills needed to manipulate data.
6. Writes PC programs, spreadsheet macros and designs data base structures as needed to produce and analyze reports.
7. Supports the preparation of routine and ad hoc financial reporting focused on identifying underlying business trends, and work directly with local-level management to identify opportunities for improvement
8. Maintain intermediate report writing skills on StrataJazz, EPIC Reporting Workbench, BI, Epic Cubes and other systems as needed.
9. Sets solid analytical goals and directs team to achieve those goals using specific, targeted, data driven tactics.
10. Analyzes financial and operational data and develops financial models used to guide business decisions
11. Communicates and educates others regarding financial improvement analyses, denials issues, findings and recommendations
12. Demonstrates ability to work with staff to resolve problems and correct deficiencies in processes related to revenue cycle processes.
13. Provides leadership and support in performance improvement activities. Participates on performance improvement initiatives as team leader or in a leadership role in areas of technical expertise. Maintain current knowledge of performance improvement processes as it applies to health care.
14. Creates formal presentations of revenue cycle results and trends for senior management.
15. Promotes and contributes positively to the teamwork of the department by assisting co-workers, contributing ideas and problem- solving with co-workers as observed by supervisor.
16. Participates in performance improvement through planning and implementing change and maintaining and improving productivity through attendance and participation in staff meetings, committees, task forces, cross functional groups, projects and discussion with hospital and medical staff as observed by supervisor
17. Meets deadlines and turnaround times set by department director and other senior leaders. These deadlines and turnaround times will, at times, flexibility in work schedule to meet business deadlines
18. Monitors data against regional and national benchmarks as well as industry leading key performance indicators
19. Produces monthly revenue cycle dashboards and other performance metrics for senior leaders, local business owner and for front line staff
20. Validates workflows and source information as it is relevant to data
21. Collaborates with other business and financial analysts to streamline work, avoid duplication, and share best practices relative to data management.
22. Produces reports and other analytics to quantify and define opportunities and issues
23. Interprets and summarizes results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way
24. Re-engineers processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy

6. Extensive knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Excel and Access software preferred.
7. Knowledge of third party payer regulations, revenue cycle functions, and electronic health records requirements.
8. Ability to explain this analysis to a non-technical audience of both internal and external customers, including executive management.
