Requirements
  • Maintain an active Department of Defense Top Secret clearance and enrollment in Continuous Vetting.
  • Hold Cisco Certified Network Professional certification.
  • Hold a Department of Defense 8140/8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II certification.
  • Hold a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and have 8 or more years of network engineering experience, including at least 5 years of directly relevant experience.
  • Have production-environment experience with routing, switching, firewalls, virtual private networks, virtual local area networks, Internet Protocol version 4 and version 6, and encryption devices.
  • Have experience applying Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides and carrying out United States Cyber Command and Defense Information Systems Agency tasking orders.
  • Have hands-on experience with air-to-ground gateways, airborne communications, satellite communications transport, or Transmission Control Protocol acceleration.
Responsibilities
  • Provide network analysis and design services and evaluate and recommend new technologies to meet requirements and improve network performance.
  • Test and document all hardware, software, and configuration changes in the lab before implementing them at an operational site, and produce the required installation and configuration guides before each change.
  • Serve as the Tier 3+ escalation point for network issues at three operational gateway sites and the platforms that connect to them.
  • Engineer and review configurations for routers, switches, firewalls, virtual local area networks, virtual private networks, Classless Inter-Domain Routing and Variable Length Subnet Masking schemes, Domain Name System, encryption devices, network management services, and satellite transmissions.
  • Configure fault tolerance and disaster recovery for servers and network devices.
  • Write scripts to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot the network.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hold Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification or Cisco Certified DevNet Associate certification.
  • Have network automation experience using Python against network application programming interfaces, GitLab continuous integration, and EVE-NG or a similar lab emulation tool.
  • Have experience supporting aircraft developmental or operational test and evaluation.
  • Have experience with SolarWinds and Splunk.
