Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5 years of advanced level accounting work experience with Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word; proficient in all other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience with computerized or cloud-based accounting systems
  • Cooperative work, effective Organization skills and Customer Service; collaborative team work, accurate work product, strong problem solving skills, and effective critical thinking
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance to carry out the essential functions
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively, multi-task, adjust to meet multiple demands; follow up with tasks through completion; ensure deadlines are met
  • Show ability to have flexibility, maturity of judgment, and ability to work collegially

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and sub-ledger accounts; prepare adjusting journal entries as needed
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in coordination with Finance staff
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all cash, savings, and investment accounts, including related journal entries
  • Maintain and analyze fixed asset schedules
  • Identify purchases to be capitalized, assign asset numbers, reconcile asset detail, and calculate depreciation and amortization
  • Ensure compliance with CCRC’s fixed asset and disposal policies
  • Process and manage journal entries for assigned areas during monthly close
  • Work with department staff to ensure proper recording of capital projects and balance sheet items
  • Review Accounts Payable transactions and Purchasing requisitions for compliance
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and applicable regulations (e.g., OMB 2 CFR Part 200, Uniform Administration Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance)
  • Assist in preparation for annual financial audits, including audit schedules and documentation
  • Respond to audit requests from independent auditors and funders
  • Train, mentor, and review work of Staff Accountants as assigned
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to internal staff on financial inquiries or issues
  • Engage in cross-departmental projects related to accounting and finance
