Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of practice.
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care standards and infusion skill sets applicable to agency programs and service needs.
  • Required licensure to operate a motor vehicle in the state of practice, access to a vehicle for business travel, and proof of liability insurance.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications, with the ability to use nursing technology tools to communicate and document care.
  • Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds and a maximum lifting capacity of 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work with occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous substances, needles, sharps, fumes, chemicals, adverse weather, animals, and unpredictable home environments.
  • Compliance with required safety equipment, including closed-toe shoes, facemask, goggles, gown or gloves, and a functioning communication device.
Responsibilities
  • Initiate, develop, and implement intermediate nursing plans of care, evaluate patient progress, organize and participate in direct patient care, perform treatments, administer medications, educate patients and families or caregivers, and modify treatment plans in response to patient status or physician orders.
  • Assess patient needs and physical status during each skilled visit, re-evaluate needs and response to therapy, obtain and clarify physician orders, inform physicians of significant changes, and provide written summaries.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I staff as needed to support patient safety and compliance.
  • Teach patients and families using a patient-centered approach to support independence with prescribed therapy and care needs.
  • Communicate with the clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families or caregivers to facilitate continuity of care.
  • Prepare clinical documentation in real time, submit documentation within established timelines, and follow approved documentation practices.
  • Coordinate discharge planning, prepare discharge summaries and patient instructions, and report patient care needs, progress, and goals when transferring care.
  • Comply with agency operations, company policies and procedures, professional standards, applicable regulations and guidelines, and accreditation standards.
  • Use computers and automation technologies to validate treatment orders, communicate care provided, and follow assigned visit schedules.
  • Respond to patient requests and initiate emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Safeguard confidential patient and proprietary company information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Explain the company's scope of services and instruct patients about related financial obligations for care and service charges.
  • Complete required training, in-services, and continuing education to maintain competency and professional licensure.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals in the home setting and act as supervisor in the absence of the supervisor or nurse manager when applicable.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences and provide precepting, training, and mentoring to nurses during orientation, onboarding, and assigned supervisory activities.
  • Participate in nursing department on-call responsibilities.
  • Insert PICC lines or midlines when ordered by a physician, troubleshoot and declot obstructed central line catheters, monitor PICC lines or midlines, and educate patients about infection prevention and routine line care.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.

  • 1-2 years of previous infusion nursing experience.

Option Care Health Q2 beats expectations with $1.4B revenue, narrows full-year guidance

However, CID-related pressure is expected to reduce 2026 revenue by roughly 600 basis points and gross profit by $55 million. The home and alternate-site infusion provider maintained its full-year revenue guidance at $5.675 billion to $5.775 billion. Adjusted EBITDA guidance was narrowed to $480 million to $495 million, and adjusted EPS guidance to $1.85 to $1.92. The company repurchased $150 million of shares, nearly 5% of shares outstanding.

Option Care Health, the largest independent provider of home infusion services in the US, reported Q1 revenues of $1.35 billion, up 1.3% year on year but missing analyst expectations by 3.3%. The company operates 177 locations across 43 states with over 4,500 clinicians. Chief executive John Rademacher acknowledged the "mixed performance" and expressed dissatisfaction with revenue growth momentum. Full-year guidance also fell short of analyst expectations. Across the senior health, home health and hospice sector, seven tracked companies reported a satisfactory Q1, with revenues beating consensus estimates by 0.9% on average. However, Option Care Health posted the weakest performance against analyst estimates despite raising full-year guidance. The stock has fallen 27.1% since reporting, currently trading at $21.59.
