Clearance: Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI CI Poly

Location/Flexibility: Local to the DC Metro Area, Remote Flexible

Responsibilities

As a Mid-Level Java/Python Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and APIs using Java and Python. This role primarily focuses on backend development, API integration, and may include cloud-based solutions.

• Application Development: Build robust, scalable, and maintainable applications and APIs using Java and Python. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• API Design & Integration: Develop RESTful APIs and microservices to enable secure and efficient system communication. Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
• Database Management: Utilize SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL) for data storage and retrieval.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Performance & Security: Optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security best practices for data handling and API authentication.
• Cloud Integration: Implement and integrate cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) for cloud-native solutions and deployments.
• Maintenance & Support: Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing applications and APIs.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Clearance: Active Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI CI Poly.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Python, with experience in frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django.
  • Strong understanding of API architectural styles (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger UI).
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 10-15 pounds at times.
