Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Complete a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license for the state of residence and maintain all state and local licensing requirements.
  • Have the ability to pass a physical examination required by the Department of Transportation and/or company policy.
  • Have three years of experience in an automotive or mechanical environment, technical school training, or at least three years of experience in sales and/or customer service; this experience is stated as preferred.
  • Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, bend, kneel, balance, change tires, inspect and push vehicles, and use hand tools to provide service.
  • Achieve satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screening.
  • Operate passenger vehicles and light- to medium-duty trucks with manual and automatic transmissions while primarily working from a service vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively in writing, verbally, by email, and through assigned technology such as global positioning system tools.
  • Successfully complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire and complete additional future departmental training as required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide lockout, fuel delivery, battery jump-start, and tire-change services using established guidelines and quality-control procedures.
  • Sell, install, and test batteries and provide other battery warranty services for members.
  • Communicate with members to keep them informed and ensure their safety.
  • Make sound decisions regarding safe vehicle service and accommodate member needs.
  • Enter call information accurately into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash, and complete required reports.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure safe operating condition and compliance with all requirements.
  • Ensure that the fleet vehicle and all equipment remain adequately secured, including when the vehicle is not in use.
  • Support AAA as needed by participating in special events such as parades, television, radio, and social media activities that promote the brand.
