  • A bachelor's degree in science, business, or another related discipline is required; a professional certification in a related field combined with ophthalmic experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Specialty pharmaceutical sales experience is required.
  • The ability to identify and address customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and drive sales growth within assigned territories is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, planning and prioritization abilities, customer-account management skills, and the ability to handle administrative responsibilities are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, along with strong financial and analytical acumen, are required.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and educate and influence customers is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, or other customer relationship management applications is required.
  • Candidates must reside within the territory or within a reasonable distance of the territory workload center.
  • Candidates must be able to drive throughout a large geographical territory for long periods daily, lift up to 25 pounds, travel by airplane and car within the United States, and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Candidates must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record meeting company standards.
Responsibilities
  • Use analytical tools to build territory business plans based on opportunities and strategic direction provided by the home office.
  • Drive territory performance through growth in prescribing and market share.
  • Stay current on managed-care coverage of products and communicate effectively with health care providers.
  • Use and refine clinical selling techniques to provide value and influence customer thinking about treatment and patient management.
  • Manage the promotional budget and determine expenditures on promotional activities within the business plan.
  • Visit ophthalmologists and optometrists according to the established call plan and independent assessment of prescription activity and growth potential.
  • Use available samples within Food and Drug Administration guidelines to maximize impact with the promotional audience.
  • Manage the Ophthalmology and Optometrist markets within the assigned geography and drive sales growth.
Desired Qualifications
  • Eye health industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI is preferred.
