  • Minimum High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 1 year experience working a licensed early childhood facility
  • Three credit hours or more in early childhood, child development, or a closely - related field from an accredited college or university; or at least 30 actual hours of instruction, provided in conferences, seminars, lectures, or workshops in early childhood, child development, or a closely - related field, and an additional 12 hours of instruction, provided in conferences, seminars, lectures, or workshops in the area of program administration, planning, development, or management
  • Minimum High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 12 months experience working a licensed early childhood facility and at least 12 months of child care experience and an N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P. credential; or at least 18 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least six credit hours in early childhood, child development, or a closely - related field
  • Minimum Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely - related field and at least six months of child care experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely - related field and at least three months of child care experience
  • DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance

  • Current TB test: TB test must be within a twelve month period of start date or a new test is required
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Arizona Department of Health Services/Bureau of Child Care Licensing (Arizona Administrative Code and Arizona Revised Statutes for Child Care Facilities)
  • Ability to manage conflict resolution with an attitude of humility and service
  • Working knowledge of child care regulations and safety practices
  • Willingness to learn and have an understanding of Classical approach to learning
  • Willingness to learn and have an understanding of Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy and methodology
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to positively impact the school community with an ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with scholars, parents, co-workers, vendors and build relationships
  • Strong commitment to providing leadership in promoting health and safety, including a healthy environment
  • Ability to operate office equipment as required on assignment; i.e. fax machine, copier, computer, etc.
  • Ability to lift boxes and packages of varying weights and move them to other locations
  • Working knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices in Early Childhood
Responsibilities
  • Promote the educational, moral, social development of the children
  • Promote and cultivate the character attributes of caring, citizenship, perseverance, respect, responsibility and trustworthiness to scholars and within the preschool community
  • Promote the core values of academic learning and partnering with families
  • Provide leadership including direction and supervision to academic staff to integrate the Classical educational program with the philosophical approach to education of Charlotte Mason with curricular objectives
  • Assist with the ongoing development of the preschool instructors related to the philosophy, mission and classical curricular of Leman Academy of Excellence
  • Promote and model excellent qualities in service leadership, educational leadership, symbolic leadership, and cultural leadership
  • Maintain effective lines of communication between the staff and administration of Leman Academy of Excellence
  • Facilitate the clarification and resolution of conflicts between families and staff regularly promoting communication between staff, scholars and their families in the absence of the Director
  • Confer with parents/guardians, teachers, and administrators in order to resolve scholars' behavioral and academic problems
  • Implement policies in line with all Arizona Department of Health Services and other regulatory bodies requirements
  • Enforce rules and procedures for responsible behavior, maintaining order among preschool classrooms
  • Assistant Director in implementing preschool calendars, staff scheduling and program activities
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure that a written classroom management policy is developmentally appropriate, implemented effectively, and communicated to the school community
  • Track, Monitor and Ensure all necessary curriculum and operational inventory and resources are available as needed
  • Provide leadership, direction and supervision for children activities and events within the school
  • Assistant Director with staff scheduling and lunch break accommodations
  • Assists with ordering and receiving of required materials and supplies
  • Creating snack menus and preparing snack for the classrooms each day in compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services
  • Maintains all required records and files
  • Teaching in a classroom in the absence of a teacher to maintain ratios
  • Maintaining schools compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services by routine checks
  • Assist new teachers in their position as a preschool teacher
  • Updating emergency cards, immunization records, staff files, and new enrollments into our school software
  • Dispensing medication in the absence of the Director
  • Providing campus tours in the absence of the Director
  • Assist the director in maintaining enrollment goals and expectations
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies for curriculum, snack, and the office
  • Receive and process checks, cash, or money order payments according to established protocol
  • Providing teacher performance feedback
  • Improving scholar academic and behavioral outcomes through improved teaching techniques and practices
  • Preparing account statements for customers
  • Following up on outstanding payments and answering customer queries
  • Monitoring all payments and preparing monthly billing reports
  • Managing account balances and resolving inconsistencies
  • Updating accounting records with issued invoices, processed payments, new balances, and customer contact information
