Requirements
  • At least one year of experience within a food manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Experience and training with food safety, HACCP, SQF, sanitation including SSOP and GMP, and quality assurance process improvement are required.
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, are required.
  • The role requires written and verbal communication skills.
  • The role requires standing for up to 12 hours per day, moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, bending, twisting, reaching, and grasping, and good spatial awareness around manufacturing equipment.
  • The role requires working in cold temperatures below 32°F for more than one hour with proper protective equipment and may require working in noise above 85 decibels with proper protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare raw material inputs, monitor production processes, and inspect final products to ensure finished treats are ready for packaging and meet customer satisfaction standards.
  • Review and document quality assurance processes and recommend improvements.
  • Manipulate stainless-steel hard pipes and flexible hosing to perform clean-in-place procedures and batch processing.
  • Participate in plant sanitation activities, including floor scrubbing, drain cleaning, and other manual sanitation tasks.
  • Collect environmental monitoring samples from finished product, work in progress, equipment, and facility areas.
  • Review and record microbiological data and report concerns and findings to the Quality Manager.
  • Use the human-machine interface to call ingredients for bulk processing and transfer batches.
  • Provide production support through mix making, equipment cleaning, product quality testing and sampling, and completion of master sanitation schedule tasks.
  • Verify finished products meet standards for color, taste, quantity, wrap, and Rainbow Array.
  • Adhere to HACCP, GMP, SOP, and SSOP programs and coordinate documentation for compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform chemistry testing to verify product specifications.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and work cross-functionally with Production and Maintenance departments.
  • Perform quality checks, record results in the data control system, and document batch records.
  • Complete internal laboratory functions, including environmental sampling, and document completion.
  • Conduct regular documentation audits to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company directives, policies, and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Food Science, Food Technology, or related-field degree is preferred but not required.
  • SQF certification is preferred but not required.
