Responsibilities
  • Secure the financial clearance of ambulatory, ancillary, surgical, and procedural services.
  • Secure referrals and authorizations.
  • Verify insurance and interpret benefits to ensure insurance guidelines are followed.
  • Interact with patients and stakeholders to support successful financial clearance and compliance with authorization and referral guidelines.
  • Use eligibility applications and authorization portals to verify insurance eligibility, interpret responses, and capture appropriate health insurance information for the service being rendered.
  • Understand and apply contractual benefits to services being rendered.
  • Collect patients' financial obligations before services are provided.
  • Train and onboard colleagues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to five years of experience in a hospital, physician office, or call center environment.
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate certification, or the ability to acquire it within two years of hire.
